Summer Internship- Systems Technician
Mainstay is looking for a student who loves technology, is passionate about helping people, has troubleshooting skills, enjoys a varied and stimulating job, has solid Windows and desktop experience, works well in a team, and is committed to growth. The System Technician Intern works in a team to help in deploying new workstations, providing onsite service at clients, troubleshooting initial issues, and providing top-quality service both in the office and onsite at clients.
This role is a growth-oriented role. There are opportunities for advancement into a full-time position as a System Technician at Mainstay. From there, you can continue to grow with Mainstay supporting you along the way.
What you will be doing
- Preparing new Windows computers for client sites
- Assist with computer deployments at client sites, ensuring a seamless transition by transferring data, setting up applications, and maintaining near 100% accuracy.
- Answer client questions, assisting them with their technology.
- Resolve issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring our clients can return to work with reliable technology. Handle Level 1 issues and troubleshooting, with support from the team.
- Support a range of projects, including PC deployments and Windows 11 upgrades for Mainstay’s clients.
- Working in an advanced ticketing system and RMM (ConnectWise).

Technical Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and working with Windows computers. Prior experience is preferential.
- A basic understanding of network protocols. Experience supporting a network is helpful but not required.
- A passion for learning – whether through formal education (such as an associate’s or bachelor's degree) or industry certifications.

Location
Due to the nature of the Systems Technician position, our technicians are generally required to be on location at our Manchester office when not onsite at clients. Travel may be required in this position and mileage for visits to client sites is reimbursable. Applicants must live within driving distance to support clients, onboarding, and ongoing team integration.
